NEW MEMBERS FOR 2007:
The Youngers; Biscuit & Black Knight. Plus Master Sergeant Bunfoot.

As of January 2008; the newest addition to the fam is none other than the linguistic lyricist N-Zyme.
Why this name?
'G Block' is what we call our ends [Greater Leys.] First referred to as such by Tony Killer in early 2004. [G Block was to be such a popular nickname for the ends that Danger One took on the name and started an 'unofficial' label - G Block Entertainment to release all his mix cds on.]
'Family' beacause the unit's tight [and of course; Bubbz, DJ & Liberty ARE family.]
Do you play live?
"No, not as a group and I don't DJ live either but Killer plays out, forever guiding his sound system [Digital Star]." Danger One

"Yeah, I play out regular. I've had many spots over the years and played at lots of one off dances as well. I've played at nuff local clubs, like; Zodiac, Atlantic Bar, Studio, The G Bar & all over the place [including Community Centres & Village Halls.] I played at some outta town dances back in the day too, but not lately." Tony Killer

"Not as an artist, but used to DJ with Biscuit in a sound called Lion Palm. A special moment for us both was when we won a cup at a local clash." Black Knight

"Done a few venues, but favourite was pirate radio shows!"N-Zyme
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It revolutionises the industry, giving wider access to everyone no matter how far away from the spot you might be. The internet is the BIG MEETING ROOM for all music enthusiasts!" Danger One
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
"Probably not, I'd rather make my G Block Entertainment label official and promote everyone from Greater Leys through that." Danger One

"Maybe if I was offered the right deal with complete creative and image control." Rawz

"Only if my boys get signed too!" Black Knight

"As long as I don't get tied down and I can move with the man dem." N-Zyme
Band History:
Formed by Danger One in September 2005. Originally just Rawz, Bubbz & DJ. Rawz was discovered about a year or so prior, although he had been writing for about 5 years [unbeknown to DJ and Bubbz!] Bubbz was discovered earlier on in the year, when Rawz encouraged him to start writing down his thoughts after hearing him freestyle on many occassions. All the while DJ was making his newfound name [Danger One] even bigger by way of his mix cds [for G Block Ent. & also Once Upon A Crime Ent.] DJ had dabbled in writing from time to time throughout his life but never really put any thought or effort into it. Once he realised the potential of linking Bubbz & Rawz together he decided he had no choice but to get with it and not just be a means of guidance or help with promotion, but to spit too! Within a couple of days DJ was on Killer's case to get wid it, knowing that Killer was a seasoned mic vet in most genres of urban music. Reluctant at first, he soon came round to the idea, although freestyling is more his forte rather than writing. By mid-October things were official and mans started putting pen to pad, so that was the real birth of The G Block Family. Within three months over 40 tracks were written!! On 1st Feb 2006 G Block Radio [Pt.1] was pushed through the gates then, after progress was made with flows G Block Radio [Pt.2] went out on 1st July, hitting the haters with more than they anticipated - bi***ES!! By the end of July the fam had grown slightly bigger with the addition of El Capitan, the straight up badman. Soon after this point they had an online interview with Blunted Records on the site Blunted Presents.... [which you can view HERE] while Pt.3 was in the making and finally managed to drop the 3rd bomb on Dec 1st 2006!!

2007 releases:

G Block Radio Pt.4 - May 1st 2007.

The One (D-Dot-Anger) - June 2nd 2007.

Welcome To BBL 'Pt.1' (DBL DISC) - Sept 3rd 2007.

As 2007 didn't really go to plan (as far as Danger One is concerned), there will be a lot more in store for fans and new followers alike. With the signing of N-Zyme in January, the fam are set to show off what they've been cooking up over the last year....... STAY TUNED!
Your influences?
"UK Hip Hop and early forms of US Hip Hop have had a big influence on me personally. Other genres that influence me musically are mainly Dancehall and Reggae, while as far as people go; all the young, up and coming talent that I have heard in Oxford are the ones that really influenced me to get into the game." Danger One

"Personally, my father and uncle influenced me greatly, having big 'sound systems' of their own, leading me to eventually build my own sound [The Untouchables.]
As well as that I find influence all around me, especially in the music I listen to; Dancehall, Reggae, Hip Hop [UK & US] and Grime." Tony Killer
