Rebel A.C has been dJing in and around oxford since the age of 14. Starting with drum n bass and now mixing funky soulful house and old skool garage. At present he is running a urban night in oxford call kiss �??n�?? tell every Friday @kiss bar .
I am DJ Rebel A.C....Repping Oxford since
the age of 14 where i started off in a popular spot called Roots Club doing
warm ups and 5 O'clock sets to perfect my dj-ing skills and to get my name
around.I quickly gained confidence DJ-ing and learnt how to move the crowd to
different levels by watching top DJ's perform,like Oxfords Spinback,DJ
Lee,Ronnie Size& Representz and even DJ Ron(London) and the whole of the
KOOL FM family,who all DJ'd at roots.The highlight back then was DJ-ing on LOAF
FM an Oxford pirate radio station which boosted my rep.When i moved to London
in 97 to work i got involved with a whole different sound called Garage which
was blowing up everywhere across London.So i started to buy Garage tunes going
to raves and listening to the radio every week till i moved back to Oxford and
started a few small nights basically DJ'ing by myself and doing private
parties.In 1999 DJ'ing all over i got a resident DJ slot at the PURPLE TURTLE
in Oxford where i DJ'd with Kid Fury and J.K every friday.Then the same year
came a big break for me playing at the first massive Garage and R'n'B rave to
hit Oxford @Park End Nightclub.It's there where i played one of my best sets to
date on the same bill as NORRIS"THE BOSS"WINDROSS and ARTFUL
DODGER(it was wicked) and from there the bookings just came in.Taking me all
over to places like Reading,Wycombe,Southampton, Bristol,London,Ayia Napa(in
2000) and even PARIS where i played on a boat party for a weekender(MOIST
PROMOTIONS).2003 was another highlight for me where i played on 1Xtra also
again last year,and 2006 landed my own show on OX4 FM which is a local radio
station which i hope to be back on this year when the station re-airs.Finally i
have my own promotion called Kiss and Tell at the Kiss bar in Oxford which has
been running for nearly two years playing the best in funky house'n'
garage,R'n'B,hip hop,bashment,reggae and old skool jungle.
