The Dat Sound System is a collective of djs that have been keeping it very real for over a decade now.
Started off all the way back in the last century, putting on free parties in Oxford and all over the uk.
Playing at local squats and outdoor venues they honed their skills in all aspects of deep community late
night extravaganzas.
The Dat Sound System has its sound signature on many of Oxfords most infamous events. Boars Hill (a kind of run down stately home with grounds) being one of the most extravagant of them all. A great venue where the team were able to run their own club, fully equiped with bars cafe chill outs and even a cinema.
"Our aim," tells Wayne, one of the crew ,"was to bring a club sound and atmosphere to the free party
scene.
"Just because their free, it doesn't mean they have to be mash up, dirty, dark affairs. We wanted our parties to be House and house means swish, cool and sexy."On House Things Dat Sound will be dropping very cool, proper house music, from the deepest of
through to sexy latino flavours, funky house, tech house, acid house and beautiful sweet soulful house, from the very latest,
and not forgetting the classics. Obviously we'll be pushing the boundaries but you can rest assured that it will be done in a very Dat sound way.
So treat yourselves and tune in every other saterday morning/friday night from 1am till 3am and sometimes till later still. We know its late, but better late than never.
